बलात्कार आरोपित होने के बाद भी केरल में रोमन कैथोलिक चर्च के पूर्व पादरी फ्रैंको मुलक्कल (Bishop Franco Mulakkal) को कैलेंडर में लगातार जगह दी जा रही है। त्रिशूर में साल 2021 के मौके पर सायरो मालाबार चर्च द्वारा जारी किए गए कैलेंडर के सामने आने के बाद कोल्लम में काफी हंगामा हो रहा है। चर्च के कई अनुयायी इस कैलेंडर की कॉपियाँ जला रहे हैं। इस कैलेंडर में बिशप फ्रैंको मुलक्कल की तस्वीर अन्य पादरियों की के साथ लगी दिखाई दे रही है।

प्रदर्शनकारियों का कहना है कि हर साल चर्च नॉमिनल चार्ज पर अनुयायियों को एक कैलेंडर देता है। लेकिन पिछले दो सालों से बलात्कार आरोपित बिशप फ्रैंको मुलक्कल की तस्वीर मार्च माह के पेज पर छपी दिखाई देती है। द न्यूज मिनट के अनुसार रिजू कंजूकरण ( Riju Kanjookaran) बताते हैं कि पिछले साल भी लोगों ने इसके ख़िलाफ़ आवाज उठाई थी और कैलेंडर जलाए थे, लेकिन इस साल फिर से यही सब हुआ।

एएनआई द्वारा साझा की गई जानकारी में भी बताया गया है कि तिरुवनंतपुरम में केरल कैथॉलिक रिफॉर्म मूवमेंट की ओर से फ्रैंको मुलक्कल की तस्वीर वाले कैलेंडर को सड़कों पर जलाया गया।

चर्च द्वारा बिशप मुलक्कल की तस्वीर कैलेंडर में छापने को लेकर हर जगह गुस्सा देखने को मिल रहा है, मगर चर्च का कहना है कि वह कैलेंडर में फ्रैंको की तस्वीर इसलिए लगाते हैं क्योंकि अभी तक उनके ख़िलाफ़ आरोप सिद्ध नहीं हुए हैं।
